以下為相關新聞節錄：2019年9月8日，於警方進行清場期間，有警員多次辱罵及以警棍指向「守護孩子」成員，更稱呼長者們為「曱甴」。 有在場記者多番勸喻警方，指「守護孩子」成員皆為長者，請大家互相尊重、不要欺負及指罵伯伯。惟警察一方並沒有聽從，反指「係鍾意篤呀點呀」及稱「冇話伯唔伯」。
