在2019年9月29日16:50左右，在灣仔告士打道行人天橋上採訪的一名香港印尼語媒體女記者右眼中彈。現場急救員替她包上紗布，懷疑她是被布袋彈射中。天橋上當時有示威者和記者。救護車 約17:10到場，受傷記者神智清醒，表示右眼很痛。 現場消息，當時警察是從天橋撤退落地面，被示威者追上，警方有點慌亂，在撤退落地面途中（或到達地面後） 向天橋上的記者和示威者方向開了至少一槍，懷疑這位記者當時中槍。 這名女記者中彈前正在做直播，距離直播影片結束前2分50秒左右，明顯鏡頭震動一下，跟着鏡頭朝天倒下，周圍的記者走上來，之後斷線。

警方堵塞地鐵閘口，不讓市民離開新城市廣場，並武力擊打市民。這涉嫌違反《公安條例》第17條中，表明警務人員在阻止公眾聚集舉行，或停止或解散公眾聚集時，只可以使用「合理所需的武力」。而過份武力對待被拘捕人士，在沒有合理辨解下，亦可能違反《侵害人身罪條例》各條。
