(a)(b)片段的初段可見一名軍裝警員，他所穿的制服背心胸前小袋只有黃色卡紙一張，並無放入警務人員的委任證明確展示其身份。其後，另一位便衣警員受市民質疑時，大呼「警察執行職務時是無需出示委任證的」。這說法涉嫌違反《警察通例》(20-14)中指出，便衣人員不論是否當值，在與巿民接觸和行使警察權力時，必須表明身分及出示委任證。

當時的片段所見，警隊的防線未被衝擊，現場亦只看到零星的人群，未見有示威者聚集並大舉攻擊在場的警務人員。但是大批速龍小隊繼續在添馬公園外掃蕩，而且再施放新一輪催淚彈。這涉嫌違反《公安條例》第17條中，表明警務人員在阻止公眾聚集舉行，或停止或解散公眾聚集時，只可以使用「合理所需的武力」。
