2019年8月13日機場衝突當日，警方在晚上 10 時 45 分到達機場，嘗試協助被包圍的男子及救護員離開。到晚上 11 時許，警方陸續撤退，一名警員再進入機場客運大樓，試圖制服一人，但被示威者圍攻，該警員一度舉槍。

以警棍攻擊毫無保護裝備，路過散步的市民頭部,涉嫌違反《公安條例》第17條中，表明警務人員在阻止公眾聚集舉行，或停止或解散公眾聚集時，只可以使用「合理所需的武力」。而過份武力對待被拘捕人士，在沒有合理辨解下，亦可能違反《侵害人身罪條例》各條。
