在2019年8月31日，油麻地地鐵站落閘，急救員被拒入內救援，痛哭不已。其後有聖約翰救傷隊人員到場，一樣未能進入閘內。現場急救員表示，一度進入站內，知道有4名傷者，但隨即被防暴警員趕走，站內另外有三個急救員，卻被逼「面壁」默站。
