示威者隨大隊緩緩撤退時，手中並無武器亦無作出抵抗，但警察對民眾施以胡椒噴霧，甚至以警棍擊打示威者的四肢和身軀。這涉嫌違反《公安條例》第17條中，表明警務人員在阻止公眾聚集舉行，或停止或解散公眾聚集時，只可以使用「合理所需的武力」。而過份武力對待被拘捕人士，在沒有合理辨解下，亦可能違反《侵害人身罪條例》各條。

警員以強光及閃光照向記者，記者表明身份後，有一名警員大聲呼喝記者，並聲稱：「你行埋一邊咪唔會照到你囉！我哋做緊嘢丫嘛。你阻住我哋睇緊啲人呀。」然而從片段所見，記者站在的位置是在警察防線的斜前方，而非正前方，相信並不構成對警方行動的阻礙。這涉嫌違反警察通例 (39-05)，警務人員應盡可能協助新聞媒體工作者的採訪工作。
